The Collaborative Approach

What is Collaborative Divorce?

Collaborative divorce is a process in which the divorcing couple, their lawyers and selected specialists function as a team. This team works together to help contain conflict and restructure a single-family system into a two-family system while creating a satisfactory resolution for both parties.

Each party is represented by an attorney throughout the entire process. No court appearances are required; all the necessary paperwork can be completed through the attorneys. In collaborative divorce, the primary objectives are to insure that agreements are mutually satisfying, likely to endure, and promote the well-being of the children.
